The Wrong Train begins easy enough: a boy gets on the wrong train. Once he realizes his mistake, he gets off at the next stop. The boy realizes too late that he has gotten off at a deserted way station only used for railroad workers. Except there is a old man waiting there. While waiting for the next train to come, the old man tells the boy stories to pass the time. Each tale makes you feel as if you are living inside the story.
But these are stories you don’t want to be in. These are stories to keep you up at night.
These are stories to make you wonder what is lurking in the shadows.
These are stories to truly scare you.
Hopefully, readers will not run away from this book because of the page count of 206. This reader believes that the short stories within this book make it easy for readers to read in short bursts and not lose their place in the story.
Fans of R.L. Stine who are looking for a more intense scare will enjoy The Wrong Train. Readers should be definitely be aware that this story contains some violence. But if readers are not turned away the gruesome parts of the story then they are sure to be thrilled by this new book in the horror genre.
